Our operations are mainly in Nairobi, Kenya supported by partners in Paris, France and Sydney, Australia. OOAIFF is run by two directors who are in-charge of Innovation, Operations and Marketing.

She Co-founded Out of Africa International Film Festival in Kenya and Africa Film Fest Australia, the country’s first Pan-African film festival. Her mission is to bridge continents through culture and build platforms that turn diverse creators into industry players.
As co-director of Afro Sistahs, she champions African women in film, telling bold stories that shift perception and create opportunity. Her credits include Survive or Die (2018), now on Amazon Prime.
Mumbi doesn't just create content—she builds movements. She’s helped women turn small ideas into profitable businessesand partnered with institutions across Australia and Kenya.
ROSE WACHUKA
Poet, Archivist
Rose is a Parisian multilingual archivist who is specialized in audiovisual.
She's well equipped with a broad range of skills and experience to include being a 7th art critic, Translator, Interpreter, Poet, Scriptwriter, art and Photography critical reader.
THITU MUIRURI
Thitu Muiruri is a Kenyan-American writer, and film director based in Boston Massachusetts.
Her love for the community has always been a great inspiration to find social issues that tend to be obstacles and prevent her people from realizing their full potential as a community.
Her passion for visual storytelling has led her into using her professional skills and talents into creating educational, informative and entertaining films that have become great conversation starters, especially on hard topics.
Some of her films include; My Perfect Gift, 15 Years Later, and _BLACK RED N GREEN.
EUNICE MACHARIA
Film Director | Producer | Community Advocate
Eunice Macharia, known as Kagure wa Makothe, is a seasoned film producer and director, and the visionary behind Kollywood (K) Movies—producing content for Inooro TV, PPP TV, Viusasa, Baze, and YouTube.
A former Commissioner at the Kenya Film Commission, she has been a strong advocate for local talent and industry growth.
She is also the President of The Kagure Foundation, supporting individuals with autism, and serves as Director of Tazama Brands Links Ltd, a marketing agency. Eunice is a counselling psychologist, accredited mediator, and proud member of the ASK Nyeri Committee.
Her deep community roots and passion for storytelling make her a powerful voice in Kenya’s creative landscape.
JOSEPH OBEL
Joseph a multidisciplinary artist, artivist, educator and curator. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts and Film from Kenyatta University, Kenya.
Joseph has taught acting for theatre, directing theatre, set design, dance choreography, spoken poetry and script writing in various colleges in Nairobi.
His writing experience involves writing for the XYZ show that raises awareness on human rights and governance in Kenya and Africa.
Mikael Thiery
Creative producer, BAFTA Connect Member and entrepreneur, Mikaël Thiery is the co-founder of Twisted Mirror, the freemium comedy service developed in multiple platforms including Smart TVs and Metaverse.
After his experience at Warner Bros France, Mikael has explored the comedy space by producing and directing sketches as well as comedy specials.
For many years, Mikael was the co-managing director of the London Short Series Festival and the Dublin Web Fest. He's also directed music videos for the London based record label Undertake Records.
After his first successful fundraising campaign for his comedy venture, Mikael continues his entrepreneurial journey by moving forward with his next fundraising round to scale up Twisted Mirror.
